Top 5 Interview Questions & Sample Answers

1️⃣ Q: What is the difference between stateful and stateless components in React?
A: Stateful components manage internal state and data, while stateless components only display data passed as props. Stateful components are typically class components, while stateless ones are usually functional.

2️⃣ Q: How does the Virtual DOM improve performance in React?
A: Virtual DOM allows React to keep a lightweight copy of the real DOM. It calculates the difference (diffing) and updates only the changed parts, improving rendering efficiency.

3️⃣ Q: Explain how CSS modules differ from traditional CSS in a React app.
A: CSS modules allow scoped and modular styles to each component, preventing naming conflicts, unlike global styles in traditional CSS.

4️⃣ Q: What are React hooks, and name a few commonly used ones.
A: React hooks are functions that let you use state and lifecycle features in functional components. Common hooks include useState, useEffect, useContext, and useRef.

5️⃣ Q: How would you optimize a React application’s performance?
A: By using techniques like code-splitting, lazy loading, memoization with React.memo, efficient state management, and avoiding unnecessary re-renders using keys and useCallback.
