Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications:
Assistant (S&T/Workshop/Bridge/Carriage and Wagon/Loco Shed – Diesel/Electrical/Operations):
- 10th Pass, ITI, or equivalent qualification
- National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) from NCVT
Assistant TL and AC (Workshop), Track Maintainer-IV, and Others:
- 10th Pass, ITI, or equivalent qualification
- National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) from NCVT
Age Limit: (as of 01 January 2025)
Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: 36 yearsAge Relaxation:
- OBC: 3 years
- SC/ST: 5 years
- PwBD: Up to 15 years (based on category)
- Additional relaxations for ex-servicemen and railway staff.

Selection Process
Computer-Based Test (CBT):
- Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD with scribes)
- Subjects: General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence, Reasoning, General Awareness
- Total Questions: 100
- Negative Marking: 1/3 marks deducted for incorrect answers
Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- Male: Lift 35 kg and run 1000m in 4 minutes 15 seconds
- Female: Lift 20 kg and run 1000m in 5 minutes 40 seconds
Application Fees
- General/OBC: Rs. 500/- (Rs. 400 refunded upon appearing in CBT)
- SC/ST/PwBD/Female/EBC/Transgender: Rs. 250/- (Refundable after CBT)
